I worked in industrial product development in the leather, shoe and sportswear industry for 10 years. I was able to gain a lot of experience and travel all over the world. It was a lot of fun, but I still longed to be a little closer to my surroundings. I wanted to do something more "meaningful"; something local and concrete.
And that's what I'm doing now.
I run the small company lyttn with one employee. We make breathable seat cushions from local wool and are happy about every person who can now enjoy a perfect seating climate!

As luck would have it, wool lovers from the
North German Wendland requested my expertise in industrial product development as a project manager and so I built up a wonderful German value chain with great enthusiasm.
We were able to convince a German Elbe dike shepherd to sell the wool to us rather than to the large wool traders. This way, this fantastic natural fibre stayed in the country and we were able to produce high-quality
(Have) Loden further processed.
idea
The idea for the first seat cover came about during a two-month car trip to the South of France. Our baby, like many others, often had a sweaty back in the seat shell, even in the German summer. I didn't even want to imagine how the child would suffer in the plastic seat in Southern Europe. A cotton towel was of little help. But I had a roll of the finest wool loden from the above-mentioned project in the
Keller! So I sewed the first prototype shortly before departure and lo and behold: it worked fantastically!
The idea for the later product and name lyttn was born.
production
The loden is made in Germany . And we will remain in Germany for the next steps as well.
The individual materials for the three-layer models are sewn together into so-called “panels” by a duvet manufacturer in the Harz region, which are then further processed into the finished seat cushions in the Osnabrück region.
Why Osnabrücker Land? Because the company headquarters was in Osnabrück until summer 2021 and special employees are allowed to continue working from there 😊 THANK YOU!

Wool is a fantastic natural fiber that can do everything we have been trying to copy with synthetic fibers for decades.
- it is breathable and prevents heat build-up.
- It regulates temperature and keeps you comfortably warm or pleasantly cool.
- It is odorless and prevents unpleasant smells from occurring or they quickly disappear after airing.
- It is self-cleaning and antibacterial. A simple brushing is often enough to maintain it.
- Should it ever become damp, it can absorb up to 30% of its own weight without feeling damp.
